This is why we as a black rock community need communication. There are always going to be people wanting to make money off of our skin color. Death is apparently performing in Chicago and will be at Reggies on New Years. They will be playing the same spot that hosts shows for bands with known ties to white nationalists. As a matter of fact Reggies with class and nerve decided to use Death In June’s logo front an center on the flyer for one of their past shows. Back in Nazi Germany the symbol was called SS-Totenkopfverbände meaning” SS-Totenkopfverbände (SS-TV), rendered in English as “Death’s-Head Units,” was the SS organization responsible for administering the Nazi concentration camps for the Third Reich.” - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS-Totenkopfverb%C3%A4nde In this post I’m also including a flyer from a past protest of Reggies.

In this photo you see Immigration police preventing a group of brothers and sisters from crossing the border from Western Brazil to Peru.
Life is hard for various groups of Black people in South America. If you are black in Argentina Paraguay or Uruguay it is almost ALWAYS assumed that you are an illegal immigrant from Brazil much like Mexican immigrants are treated here in the United States
South American governments, particularly Argentina are very concerned with the rapid growth of the Black Brazilian Population. Argentina is like the KKK of South America and their savagely racist government has done all that it can internationally to prevent the public documentation of Black people in their country.
This is the global white FEAR of a Black Planet.

Today I watched a GREAT discussion between bell hooks and Melissa Harris-Perry, hosted by The New School. They discussed some great topics centered on Black women’s voices and experiences. I live tweeted the event, which is now in a Storify. To view the event (about an hour and fifteen minutes long), check Ustream. Also The Melissa Harris-Perry Show website should be adding the video soon.
Good stuff. Must watch!

"Self-hate is a serious problem and it can’t be ignored any longer. I think that it is one of the most difficult problems to actually confront because there are sooo many factors at play. It doesn’t help that those who do have this outlook refuse to acknowledge it. Even upon reading this many will pick out and argue any little detail as if they are trying to aid an internal slave master that lives in their conscious. A lot of black people I’ve personally talked to have been and continue to be very confrontational about even the idea of race regardless the music or lifestyle the person participates in."

Several yards of lace and cotton have been used to create this beautiful maxi skirt. It is full and flared but also hugs the hips perfectly to create a gorgeous shape and also flatter the body. Perfect for women of all shapes and sizes and easy to wear.
You will feel so free to create magic and dance around in this skirt…
